Admin No Comments on Weatherby Rifle Serial Number I just picked up a pristine Mark V with the serial number P52848, would anyone know approximately what year was this rifle made? Finding exact manufacture date and info on a Vanguard If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ by clicking the link above. I have the opportunity to purchase another Mark V in 300B the rifle is made in Japan, and was bought in 94 and appears flawless, however I am unable to determine the model it has an oil finish compared to the gloss finish of the delux etc the deal seems fair 750 for the rifle with leupold rings and bases 50 loaded rounds and 50 once fored brass. All Weatherby® Mark V ® rifles with a serial number prefix of “WY, PM and PS” and Vanguard ® Series 2 rifles with a serial number prefix of “VB ” are guaranteed to shoot a.99″ or better 3-shot group at 100 yards from a cold barrel when used with premium (non-Weatherby calibers) or Weatherby. I bought it in the spring as I wanted a Weatherby.22 for a plinker. This.22 I purchased was made in the 1960s, serial number 14xxx It was purchased by a military officer at a PX in Iceland, brought to Alaska and kept in its box and not shot or used. The box is with it still, but is in rough shape, plastic sleeve included.
Gentlemen:I would like to offer for sale my Mark XXII rifle.
Here is what I can tell you about it.
I bought it in the spring as I wanted a Weatherby .22 for a plinker.
This .22 I purchased was made in the 1960s, serial number 14xxx
It was purchased by a military officer at a PX in Iceland, brought to Alaska and kept in its box and not shot or used.
The box is with it still, but is in rough shape, plastic sleeve included.
The rifle comes with one 5-shot magazine.
Due to the former owner’s statement of it being unfired, I have not shot it.
The former owner is the son of the original buyer.
The Mark XXII is in excellent condition.
I was told this .22 was made by Beretta in Italy but I can’t confirm this.
I posted the .22 on a few forums seeking information and value. It was suggested I not fire it as it has some collectability in its current state. Suggested value to me was between $800 and $1200. If this is fair, I would like to offer it at a midway price of $1000 plus shipping to your FFL. If I’m off on the price I am open to suggestions. There is really nothing I am currently interested in as to a trade except I am looking for a Model 1871 Remington rolling block in .50-70 as made for the New York state militia (with half cock safety), all original and complete with cleaning rod.
Please note: The scope shown in the photos is not for sale. The price above is for the Mark XXII only.
At a gun show a few days ago I bought a Mark XXII with the tube feed as a slightly used shooter grade and am quite pleased with it so this one has to go.
My email is <[email protected]>
Email me your question and we can discuss this unused Mark XXII.
Thanks for looking.
